Together, we are a dynamic duo of DIY sisters: Jenny (short hair) and Emily (long uncontrollable nest).  As the creative team behind Thrifty Hitches, we count ourselves lucky to have been in the wedding industry for a collective of 30 years.  

We both love crafting, saving money, and weddings, so this venture is a mashup of all of those interests.  So please, sit back, grab some cake, and take a peek around.  

Mark Frye is the owner/principal designer of Creative Occasions Events, Flowers & Gifts, located in Vinton, Virginia. Mark is an award-winning designer at both the state and national levels and has assisted with main stage design presentations for the Southern Chapter of the AIFD (American Institute of Floral Design). He has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Virginia Professional Florist Association and served as a main-stage presenter for the Association’s annual meeting. In 2021 & 2022, Mark was honored to have his application accepted to serve as a volunteer decorator for Christmas at the White House! His experience there even included a few hours work in the White House flower shop, designing arrangements that were to be used in the private residential quarters as well as part of the holiday displays in the China Room and the Vermeil Room. Early in 2022, Mark launched a YouTube series called Blossoms and Bourbon. In each episode of the series, a different floral design style or design technique is demonstrated, followed by a bourbon tasting, showcasing a different bourbon in each episode. So far, viewers range from across the United States, Australia, Portugal, The Phillipines, Canada and the UK! Education remains an important aspect of Mark’s career and he is happy to share some of his almost 30 years of experience in this series! 

Hello there! My name is Chelsea and I am the proud Owner and Creative Director of One Fine Day Events. What started as a fun mother/daughter hobby has grown into a business I am proud to stand behind.

While I didn't always know that the wedding and events industry was where I would end up, fate seemed to keep pointing me in that direction. With my qualifications and experience, I am able to plan and execute my clients' events with ease and confidence, crafting a unique and unforgettable narrative that truly captures their vision and style. I am always humbled and honored to be a part of such grand events in someone’s life and I do not take it for granted.

On a more personal note, when I am not planning weddings or events, you can find me with my family. I have been married for over 10 years to the love of my life, Devin, and we have two wonderful boys together, ages 8 and 3 (yes, I am tired, haha). I am a true and proud soccer mom now so we spend many evenings and weekends on some type of field. We also have two dogs and two cats and if I could I would have them all, but I like my husband so compromise it is. When I do find some downtime you can usually catch me binge watching something on Netflix or Peacock, most of which are shows I have seen a thousand times already. I look forward to meeting you and hearing all about you and your big day!

   Hello, my name is Roy Shannon Prusak. I am the proud owner of RSP Entertainment. I started Deejaying as a hobby back in 1996 at small schools events and private parties under the name DJ RoyBoy. As my popularity grew and my services were becoming requested more often, my Dad & I decided that it was time to take my DJ hobby to the next level and go pro and thus, RSP Entertainment was born.          Having over 28 years of DJ experience under my belt is what helps me provide our clients with one of the best entertainment services in Virginia! If it's happened at a wedding, I've likely experienced or see it, ha ha.        

 I enjoy DJing for all types of events and am very comfortable performing for groups that even have a wide variety of people and tastes in music. I'm also very sociable and interactive with my audiences (when appropriate of course). I don't mind getting on the dance floor to liven up an event by leading modern & classic group dances.         

I've lived in Botetourt County, VA. all my life. I graduated from Virginia Tech in May 2005 with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Some of my hobbies include rollerblading, playing soccer, working on my '71 Mach 1 Mustang, building custom speakers, installing car audio and of course Dajing & hanging out with The WORX Band.         My newest adventure with my wife Brandy is raising our twins Ryann & Karter who joined our family in May of 2015 . Believe it or not my daughter Ryann has taken an interest in the DJ biz as well and actually DJed her first Elementary school earlier this year! Time sure does fly when you're having fun, so let's see what we can do to help you!

The only thing we love more than gorgeous light is having a beautiful family laughing and having fun in that light.  We believe portrait photography is just as much about the experience as it is about the final images.  We love connecting with the families we photograph and believe that connection shines through in our images.

Our focus is family portraits, children's portraits, maternity, newborn portraits and Birth Story sessions.  We also photograph weddings, senior portraits, and events.  We work out of Roanoke, VA and surrounding areas including Franklin County, Bedford, Christiansburg, Blacksburg, and Lynchburg.
